Biography

After winning the high hurdles at the 1963 Pan American Games, Blaine Lindgren remained a top class hurdler for two more seasons although he never won another major title. He was often thwarted in his quest for championship honors by the great Hayes Jones, who beat Lindgren by inches in the 1964 AAU and at the Olympics. Lindgren is a graduate of Utah and worked for the sheriff's department in his hometown in that state.
