After winning the high hurdles at the 1963 Pan American Games, Blaine Lindgren remained a top class hurdler for two more seasons although he never won another major title. He was often thwarted in his quest for championship honors by the great [Hayes Jones], who beat Lindgren by inches in the 1964 AAU and at the Olympics. Lindgren is a graduate of Utah and worked for the sheriff's department in his hometown in that state.
