Andreas Letz had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1981 World Championships Bantamweight class (272.5 kg); 3rd in the 1983 World Championships Bantamweight class (280.0 kg); 3rd in the 1985 World Championships Featherweight class (292.5 kg); 3rd in the 1986 World Championships Featherweight class (285.0 kg); 2nd in the 1980 European Championships Bantamweight class (257.5 kg); 2nd in the 1981 European Championships Bantamweight class (272.5 kg); 3rd in the 1983 European Championships Bantamweight class (280.0 kg); 3rd in the 1985 European Championships Featherweight class (287.5 kg); 3rd in the 1986 European Championships Featherweight class (282.5 kg). He set three world records - two in the clean & jerk, and one in the total.
