Teuvo Laukkanen’s first big accomplishment as a cross-country skier was a victory in the 30 km at Ounasvaara in 1943. Laukkanen won the 18 km at the 1944 Lahti Ski Games and won his only two Finnish titles in 1945 – in the 30 km and relay. He also won two silvers and three bronzes at the Finnish Championships. In 1948, at his only international tournament, Laukkanen was eighth in the 18 km and won a silver as a member of the Finnish relay team. By profession Laukkanen was a police sergeant. |
