Biography

Polish painter Jeremi Kubicki studied painting at the Institute of Fine Arts in Warszawa, then in 1929 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warszawa. After graduation, he painted mainly landscapes and idyllic scenes, and made painting decorations on Polish passenger ships MS Pilsudski (1934) and MS Batory (1939). Kubicki also participated in the 1938 world exhibition in New York, creating seven paintings devoted to the history of Poland for the Polish pavilion. He died fairly young at the age of 27 by quite unexpectedly shooting himself in the temple. Almost all the artist’s creative output was lost during World War II.
