Sports shooter Johan Arvid Knöppel won a gold medal at the 1908 London Olympic Games in the running target, single shot team competition. He was a brewery owner and author and married to Maria Cecilia Elsbeth Schultz, who was a Swedish sculptor, draftswoman, printmaker, writer and painter. Their son [Gustav Arvid Knöppel] became an Olympic artist who participated as a sculptor at the 1932 Los Angeles Games.
