Apart from winning the 1924 Olympic gold medal, Dan Kinsey's only major championship honors came at the 1924 IC4A when he won the high hurdles for Illinois. After graduating from Illinois, Kinsey received a master's degree from Oberlin and a Ph.D. from Michigan. He taught and coached at Oberlin for 31 years, then went to Earlham College in Indiana as director of physical education and later held a similar post at Delta College in Bay City, Michigan, until his 1967 retirement.
