Kathy Kelley competed in the 1936 Olympics while still a student at Keowee High School in Seneca, South Carolina. Kelley qualified for the Olympic Team by winning a jump-off for the third spot over Ida Myers, both having jumped 5-0½ [1.53]. She attended Greenville Women’s College and later became a beautician.
