German Kurt Harald Isenstein was a Jew who studied at the Art Academy in Berlin and became a freelance sculptor. His bust of Albert Einstein (1928) in front of the Einstein Tower in Potsdam was removed and hidden by the Nazis in 1933. Isenstein was arrested, but was allowed to immigrate to Denmark in 1934 (his mother was Danish), and in 1943 to Sweden. After World War II Isenstein returned to Denmark and founded an Arts and Crafts School in København (Copenhagen). He eventually created numerous busts and illustrated books, and also worked as an art and music teacher.
