Biography

Hec Hogan had the following podium finishes at major championships: 3rd in the 1956 Olympics 100 metres; 3rd in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 100 yards, 3rd in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4x110 yards relay (with Brian Oliver, David Lean, and Kevan Gosper), 3rd in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4x110 yards relay (with Kevan Gosper and the non-Olympians Jim McCann and Terry Gale). In the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 220 yards as well as long jump Hogan finished fifth. In the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games long jump he finished 25th and in the 100 yards he was eliminated in the semi-finals.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.2 (1954); 200 – 21.2y (1954).
