Bill Hosket

Bill Hoskett followed Gary Bradds and fellow Olympian Jerry Lucas as star forwards for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a 6-8 (2.03), 225 lb. bruiser who three times was Ohio State basketball MVP, twice was named All-Big Ten, and in 1968 was NCAA District IV Player of the Year. In addition he was an honor student who won an NCAA fellowship for graduate study. The fellowship did not prevent Hoskett from playing in the NBA. He was drafted by the New York Knicks as their first choice and he played two years for them and finished up his NBA career by playing two more years for the Buffalo Braves. Hosket did not have a great professional career but part of the problem was he had chronically injured knees which prevented him from ever playing a full season.
