Apart from his two medals in the discus events, Bill Horr placed sixth in the hammer, seventh in the shot, and competed in the tug-of-war at the 1908 Olympics. While at Syracuse University, Bill Horr won the IC4A hammer in 1906 and 1907, and later won the 1908 AAU title. Horr also played football at Syracuse and in 1908 made All-America on his way to becoming a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. He later attended Syracuse Law School and practiced as an attorney after a short period as assistant football coach at Syracuse.
