After his competitive career ended, Urban Hettich made his living as a coach of the Canadian and Swiss Nordic combined national teams, and also coached the Spanish cross-country skiiers. His best performance in Nordic combined came at the 1976 Winter Olympics, winning the silver medal, and he also won three consecutive national championships from 1974 to 1976. Urban Hettich is not related to the 2006 Olympic Champion Georg Hettich although both are from the same town, Schonach. |
