Hans Heyer studied in Berlin and Strasbourg, but then became a freelancer working mainly as a movie posters artist and portraitist. He was obviously fascinated by feminine curves. This can be seen in many of his (nude) images. For most of them his wife Erika Löber modeled for him. Hans Heyer often went through depressive phases. During his lifetime, he did not sell many pictures, and he belonged to the so-called “lost generation” of German painters.
