Biography

August Heitmann had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1926 European Championships 4×200 metres Freestyle Relay (with Joachim Rademacher, Friedel Berges, and Herbert Heinrich), 1st in the 1927 European Championships 4×200 metres Freestyle Relay (with Joachim Rademacher, Friedel Berges, and Herbert Heinrich), 3rd in the 1927 European Championships 100 metres Freestyle.

He was living at Barcelona in Spain when the Olympics took place in Amsterdam 1928 and emigrated to Chile two years later.
