Steffen Grummt was a decathlete who placed fourth at the 1982 European Championships and was ranked fourth in the world that year. After the Soviet-led Olympic boycott of 1984 Grummt changed to bobsledding and became World Champion in the four-man bob and second in the two-man bob in 1985. In 1986 he also won bronze in the two-man competition. He later married champion swimmer Kornelia Ender and became head of the sports school in Mainz. Personal Best: Dec - 8,261 (1982). |
