Biography

Born in Ontario, Peter Gordon’s first athletic pursuit was sport shooting, and he was the Saskatchewan provincial skeet shooting champion prior to moving to Vancouver, British Columbia and setting up P. D. Gordon Hardware. He also joined the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and was selected, alongside Ernest Cribb, George Gyles, Harry Jones, Ronald Maitland, and Hubert Wallace, to represent Canada in the 8 metre class at the 1932 Summer Olympics. Despite losing all four races, the Canadians brought home a silver medal from the Games because the only other nation to enter the 8 metre tournament was the United States.
