Biography

Raphaël Glorieux was a top track racer for Belgian. He was Belgian champion in the individual pursuit in 1949, 1950, and 1951, and placed second in the pursuit at the 1951 World Championships. Glorieux turned professional in 1952 and rode some minor pro races and some six-day events. He was Belgian champion in the professional pursuit in 1952-53, runner-up in 1954 and placed third in 1955. His best road placements as a pro were second in the 1952 Circuit Mandel-Lys-Escaut and second at the 1953 Grand Prix de Vilvoorde. His brother, Gabriel, also competed for Belgium at the 1952 Olympic Games.
