Lenora Fisher had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1955 Pan American Games 100 metre backstroke, 2nd in the 1955 Pan American Games 4×100 metre medley (with [Helen Stewart], [Beth Whittall], and [Virginia Grant]).
In the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games she finished fourth in the 110 yards backstroke and fifth in the 3×110 yards medley relay (with [Virginia Grant] and the non-Olympian Margaret Stangroom).
Her later husband Ronald "Ron" Gilchrist was a member of the Canadian team which was eliminated in the heats of the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4×220 yards freestyle relay.
