Biography

Hernando Fitz-James was the younger brother of Jacobo Fitz-James. After winning a polo silver medal in 1920 at Antwerpen, he also took part in 1924 in Paris but did not win another medal. He was a chamberlain of the royal household during the reign of King Alfonso XIII. At the beginning of the Spanish Civil War he was killed in the massacre of Paracuellos in November 1936.
