| Sam Felton was AAU hammer throw champion from 1949-51 and also won the NCAA hammer in 1948. He competed for Harvard and Dartmoth, and after college, the NYAC, the US Navy, the Navy Olympics, and the Philly Collegiate T&F Club. At the AAU meet he placed in the top three in the hammer every year from 1947-55, with the exception of a fourth-place finish in 1954.
