August Eskelinen was a sergeant with the Finnish 2nd Bicycle Battalion at the time of the 1924 Winter Olympic Games. A month after the Olympics Eskelinen won a silver in the individual military patrol and bronze in the team military patrol at the Finnish Army Championships. He also won silvers in the military patrol individual event in 1926 and 1927 at the Finnish Army Championships. In 1925 Eskelinen won his only Finnish title in the 5x2 km cross country skiing relay. |
