Marty Engel was AAU hammer throw champion in 1953. At the 1955 Pan American Games, he was silver medalist in the hammer throw, and bronze medalist in the shot put. At the 1952 NCAA Championships, he was second for NYU. He did not qualify for the 1956 Olympics after finishing fourth in the hammer throw at the Final Trials. Personal Bests: SP – 15.40 (50-6½) (1954); DT – 43.13 (141-6) (1956); HT – 61.72 (202-6) (1960). |
