Biography

A center, Chris Drury was drafted by the Québec Nordiques in 1994, but elected to play college hockey at Boston University, where he won the Hobey Baker Award as the best college hockey player in the country. He led BU to the 1995 NCAA Championship in the Frozen Four, and four consecutive titles in the Beanpot Tournament (1995-98). Drury still holds the BU record of 113 goals during his career, and is the only Terrier player to have had 100 goals and 100 assists in his college years. He entered the NHL in 1998 with the Colorado Avalanche, winning the 1998-99 Calder Trophy as the Rookie of the Year, and has since played with the Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, and the New York Rangers. He played on a Stanley Cup Champion in 2001 with the Avalanche. In addition to his two Olympic appearances, Drury has represented the US internationally at the 1996 World Junior Championships, the World Championships in 1997, 1998, and 2004, and the World Cup in 2005. He has the unusual distinction of also having played on a Little League World Series Champion in 1989 with Trumbull, Connecticut.
