Helena Dow was Amateur Fencers League of America (AFLA) champion with the foil in 1940, 1943, and 1947-48, winning in 1940 and 1943 under her maiden name, Mroczkowska. She was also women’s intercollegiate champion in 1939 while fencing at Hofstra University. Her husband, [Warren Dow], fenced at the 1936 Olympics, while their son, [Robert Dow], was on the 1972 US Olympic fencing team. Helena Dow later coached fencing at Fairleigh Dickinson University from 1968-71.
