Biography

Frederick Dove had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1938 British Empire Games 4×220 yards Freestyle Relay (with Mostyn Ffrench-Williams, Norman Wainwright, and Bob Leivers), 1st in the 1938 British Empire Games 3×110 yards Medley Relay (with Goldup Davies and the non-Olympian Micky Taylor); 2nd in the 1938 European Championships 100 metres Freestyle, 3rd in the 1938 European Championships 4×200 metres Freestyle Relay (with Bob Leivers, Norman Wainwright, and the non-Olympian Kenneth Deane).

Dove also finished fourth in the 1934 British Empire Games 100 yards Freestyle and competed in the 1938 British Empire Games 110 yards Freestyle. In the British Empire Games he represented England.
