Willy den Ouden had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1936 Olympics 4×100 metres Freestyle Relay, 2nd in the 1932 Olympics 100 metres Freestyle, 2nd in the 1932 Olympics 4×100 metres Freestyle Relay; 1st in the 1931 European Championships 4×100 metres Freestyle Relay (with Truus Baumeister, Rie Vierdag, and Zus Braun), 1st in the 1934 European Championships 100 metres Freestyle, 1st in the 1934 European Championships 4×100 metres Freestyle Relay (with Jopie Selbach, Ans Timmermans), and Rie Mastenbroek), 2nd in the 1931 European Championships 100 metres Freestyle, 2nd in the 1934 European Championships 400 metres Freestyle, 2nd in the 1938 European Championships 4×100 metres Freestyle Relay (with the non-Olympians Alie Stijl, Trude Malcorpe, and Ria van Veen).
