After winning the 1927 South American Championship at 800 metres, Serafín Dengra competed at the 1928 Olympics where he met his wife, Belgian Lilly Robert. His grandson of the same name, Serafín Dengra, became a famous rugby football player, competing for the Argentine international squad, "Pumas", and later playing professionally in Australia, France, and Italy.
