Ramón de Zubiaurre Aguirrezábal and his brother Valentine were both born deaf, which is considered the reason for their close relation. In 1940 they emigrated to the United States, returning only in 1951. From the beginning of his career, the development of Ramón de Zubiaurre is closely linked to the National Exhibition of Fine Arts and cultural life in Madrid. In 1905 he graduated from the Academy of San Fernando. Later he settled in Madrid, where he rented a studio together with his brother in Madrid.
