Biography

After the 1924 Olympics, George Dempsey rode, and won, a six-day race in Sydney in 1925. He then emigrated to the United States and continued to ride professionally in six-day races from 1928-1937, racing over 30 times. This included wins in Oakland in both 1936 and 1937, with Canadian [Lew Rush]. He also placed second at Philadelphia in 1932 and 1934, Cleveland and Louisville in 1935, and at Minneapolis in 1936. Dempsey also rode a six-day in Paris in 1935, but did not finish.
