Biography

A javelin thrower, Malcolm Dalrymple competed in four internationals for Great Britain, including the 1948 Olympics. His win in a dual meet against France in 1949 was the first ever at the event for Britain in a dual international. He set a British record with 64.24 in 1948, was the 1939 AAA Junior champion and placed second at the AAAs in 1946 and 1948-50. He was the son of Jock Dalrymple, who competed at the 1924 Olympic Games and set six British javelin records in 1923-4. He was an engineer by profession.
