Biography

A member of the Scottish International cross-country team in 1921 (30th), David Cummings never once placed in a track event at the Scottish Championships but in 1924, he finished a distant third in the AAA steeplechase and won a place on the Olympic team. Despite his lack of experience he performed creditably in Paris, finishing fifth in a field of ten in his heat.
