James Humbert Craig, a self-taught painter as he failed to see the term through at the Belfast School of Art. He painted mostly Irish landscapes, and had a Northern Irish father with Alexander Craig and a Swiss mother with Maria Mentelen. His job, as a landscape painter was to reflect nature as it was. He painted in Switzerland, in the south of France and in northern Spain.
