Biography
Following his fifth place in the AAA mile in 1908 and 1911, Joe Cottrill improved to finish third in 1912. After winning the 1500 m at the 1912 British Olympic Trials he was eliminated in the heats in Stockholm, but set a new UK record for 3K when he led Britain to the bronze medals in the team race.
