Biography

Jimmy Clark won eight Golden Gloves titles as an amateur, winning tournaments in Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Paris. After the 1936 Olympics, he turned professional, winning 19 bouts and losing 20 in his career. In 1938 his biggest win was a knockout of future middleweight champion Tony Zale. In 1983 he was inducted into the Chautauqua County Sports Hall of Fame. Later in life he worked as an elevator operator and was a trainer and referee at the Jamestown Boys Club.
