Biography

David Chauner raced the team pursuit and the road race at the 1968 Olympics and then returned in 1972 to compete again in the team pursuit. Chauner won a bronze medal in team pursuit at the 1971 Pan American Games. He retired from racing in 1975 and became a major player in administration within the cycling world.

From 1976-78 Chauner was manager of the Trexlertown Velodrome in Pennsylvania. He was on the US PRO Board of Directors from 1977-95, and started managing and staging cycling races. He also co-founded Winning magazine, a top American cycling publication. In 1985 Chauner formed International Cycling Productions, and founded the US Professional Road Race Championship in Philadelphia. He has been a Group Director at Octagon Sports, a principal and CEO at Pro Cycling Tour, and in 1998 formed Threshold Sports LLC, which manages and develops cycling events and programs. Chauner is also a managing partner at the American Cycling Group.
