Together with Haedo, he also competed in Six Day Races, twice coming 6th in Buenos Aires. On the road, his biggest victory was the 1982 Vuelta del Uruguay stage race. Caíno continued to race until his death, often doing well in Argentine Masters Championships. He suffered a fatal heart attack while cycling near his home town of La Paz at the age of 58.
