Biography

Five days after capturing bronze in the individual foil, Andrea Cassarà helped his team mates to win the team gold, despite a negative personal record (13-15) in the final against China. His record includes various other success: the 2006 World Cup, team gold at the 2003 and 2008 World Championships and three individual European titles. In 2007, Cassarà reported his coach, Stefano Cerioni to the fencing federation for military style initiation rites. The two later reconciled.
