Jim Brown had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1930 British Empire Games 4×110 yards Relay (with Johnny Fitzpatrick, Ralph Adams, and the non-Olympian Leigh Miller). Brown also competed in the 1930 British Empire Games 100 yards but was eliminated in the heats.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.6 (1932).
