Ben Brown of UCLA finished in fourth place at the 1976 Final Trials in the 400 metres. This earned him a spot on the 1,600m relay team and he ran the third leg in 44.6 in the Montréal final. Earlier in the season he had won the NCAA 400 meter championship. Brown was killed in a car accident. Personal Bests: 200 – 20.6 (1975); 400 – 44.7y (1973); 800 – 1:48.8 (1986). |
