Biography

Johannes “Jo” Boer was not related to the musician Coenraad Walther Boer, who took part in the art competitions in 1932. Jo lived and worked in Groningen. There he designed especially large residential complexes based on the Amsterdam School style. In 1971 he and his wife died together in a traffic accident when he tried to avoid the Groningen City Railway and crashed into the adjacent channel.
