Biography

Jean Botham had the following podium finishes at major championships: 3rd in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4×110 yards Freestyle Relay (with Daphne Wilkinson, Fearne Ewart, and the non-Olympian Valerie Nares-Pillow). In the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 3×110 yards medley relay Botham finished fourth (with the non-Olympians Margaret Grundy and Maureen Pitchfork) and in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 110 yards freestyle she was eliminated in the heats. In the British Empire and Commonwealth Games she competed for England.
