Biography

Rupert Blöch was Austrian champion in the 100 metres (1952), 400 metres (1949-1952), 4×100 relay (1949), and 4×400 relay (1950). During his athletics career he studied physics and finished with a master's degree at age 23. After spending two years in Germany working for Siemens-Reiniger-Werke in Erlangen he moved to Sweden. There he worked for LM (nowadays Ericsson) from 1955-59 and met his future wife Majbritt. They settled down in Kapfenberg and Blöch worked for Böhler-Kapfenberg until his retirement in 1985. He was also interested in music, languages, and travelling.

Personal Best: 400 – 48.0 (1952).
