Anni Biechl took part in the 1958 European Championships and won the 1959 and 1960 German 100 metre national title, as well as the 1959 indoor 70 metres. Biechl was awarded the 1982 DLV-silver pin, the 1990 DLV-gold pin, and the 1960 “Silberne Lorbeerblatt" (Silver bay leaf). She was married to Waldemar Capeller who also received the 1986 DLV-silver pin for his work as vice president of the Bavarian Track & Field Association from 1985-91.
