One year before her Olympic appearance Kerstin Behrendt won the same medal at the World Championships in the sprint relay and one year later she won gold at the World Cup with her relay team. In 1990 she became European Champion with the sprint relay team. She won two national indoor titles in 1989 in the 60 metres and 100 yards and in 1990 won again at 60 m indoors, and won the outdoor 100 m. She later worked as a medical technical assistant, then as an educated nurse. Personal Best: 100 – 11.05 (1988). |
