Guido Behling had the following podium finishes at the Flatwater World Championships: 2nd 1985 K2 500 m (with Hans-Jörg Bliesener), 2nd 1986 K4 1000 m (with Hans-Jörg Bliesener and the non-Olympians Jens Fiedler and Thomas Vaske), 3rd 1985 K4 1000 m (with Hans-Jörg Bliesener, Peter Hempel, and Andreas Stähle), 3rd 1989 K4 1000 m (with Torsten Krentz, André Wohllebe, and the non-Olympian Thomas Vaske).
