Lemoine Batson began competing in ski jumping as early as 1917. After competing in the 1924 Winter Olympics, he was later selected for the 1932 USA Olympic team as a ski jumper, but did not compete. His best jump was one of 183 feet in Westby, Wisconsin in 1925, equaling the hill record. He later became a sports administrator, and was the first chairman of the Central US Ski Association, serving as its president in 1939-40. |
