Dan Ayrault rowed in the bow, pairing with Conn Findlay to win the 1956 pairs with a gold medal at Melbourne. Ayrault, a Stanford grad ('56), came back in 1960 as a member of the Lake Washington RC four which won the gold medal at Rome. Ayrault captained the Stanford crew team in his last year and won one other national title – that the pairs in 1958 as a member of the Washington AC. He later earned a master’s degree in education from Harvard and became an educator and school administrator. |
