Jodi Anderson

Jodi Anderson was a long jumper and pentathlete/heptathlete who attended Cal State Northridge and competed for the Los Angeles Naturite Track Club. She did not finish her only Olympic appearance in the 1984 heptathlon. At the 1977 World University Games she won a bronze medal in the long jump, and ran a leg for the US 4×100 relay team in the semi-finals, and they went on to win the gold in the final. She was silver medalist in the pentathlon at the 1979 Pan American Games. Anderson competed again at the 1979 World University Games, placing second in the long jump, and running in the 4×100 final, in which the USA team was disqualified. She was AIAW champion in the long jump in 1977 and 1979 and the pentathlon in 1979, and won TAC Championships in the long jump in 1977-78, and 1980-81. She was hurt by the 1980 US Olympic boycott as this was her best year, setting multiple personal bests and winning the Olympic Trials in both the long jump and pentathlon.
