Biography

At Los Angeles in 1932 Karl Aletter won a silver medal in the coxless fours and was eliminated with the eights in the repêchage. Four years earlier he was fifth with the eights in Amsterdam. Aletter was German Champion from 1928-31 in the eights, 1929-31 and 1933 in the coxless fours, all with the Mannheim rowing club Amicitia 1876. For many years he was deputy chairman of the German Rowing Association and in 1970 was made an honorary member. A medical doctor, Aletter ran a practice as an internal disease specialist in the town of Kaiserslautern.
