Biography

Bill Allen was originally an alternate on the 1972 Olympic team, but at the Games he was chosen to join [Bill Bentsen] as crew for [Buddy Melges] and between them they won the Olympic Soling class by a handsome margin. Allen won a national title in the 1970 E Scow class and was 1972 National Champion in the Finn class. He graduated from Colorado College in 1971 with a degree in business administration.
